Underfloor Heating

We have installed underfloor heating for many customers over the years and it’s easy to see why as there are so many benefits.

Underfloor heating heats up the entire floor meaning you eliminate any cold spots which can occur with traditional radiator systems. It also feels great underfoot turning normally cold floors cosy and warm.

Warm water underfloor heating works on a lower flow temperature than radiators, but because it covers a much larger surface area it is still able to heat the room effectively, for this reason, UFH is around 25 % more efficient than radiators, saving you money on your energy bills.

How underfloor heating works

Underfloor heating systems are invisible as the pipe is buried beneath the floor. This frees up wall space, ideal for open plan living and rooms such as kitchens where space is usually at a premium.

Underfloor heating works by taking hot water from a heat source and blending it with cooler water to give a lower flow temperature, this is done to avoid damaging floor surfaces. It is then pumped into the manifold and each individual zone depending on what room is calling for heat. Each room ( Zone ) is controlled via its own room thermostat.

Where can you use underfloor heating?

There is no minimum or a maximum number of zones you can have, which makes it ideal for one room extensions that would only require one or two zones, or for much bigger properties that will probably require multiple manifolds.

We can lay underfloor heating pretty much anywhere and have different systems for different floor types, it can even be laid on top of existing floors and in conjunction with an existing radiator system. 

We can install underfloor heating to work with whatever heat source you have, be it boiler, heat pump, or, wood-burning stove. UFH works very efficiently when installed with heat pumps as the flow temperatures they produce are naturally much lower.
